Brief History:

Commercial Bank Intesa Sanpaolo Romania S.A. (Intesa Sanpaolo Bank) is the name under which the largest financial group in Italy and one of the top 10 in the world officially acts in Romania, since 14th of January 2008. Intesa Sanpaolo Bank was established in 1996 by a group of Romanian entrepreneurs focused on the western part of Romania and specialized in products and services for small and medium enterprises (SMEs).

After the global merger between Intesa and Sanpaolo IMI groups, the bank entered a new stage of development, Romania becoming a strategic market and a priority for accelerated growth of the new group Intesa Sanpaolo.
